Ontario's premier provider of non-emergency medical transportation.
Job Description
We offer full time, part time and on call driving positions. The hourly wage is $15.50/hour paid weekly. Time worked is calculated from the time the driver leaves their home for the first pickup, to when they return home at the end of their shift. Candidates must have a clean driver abstract (3 year uncertified) and we will request that a doctor's note and police check with the addition of the vulnerable sector be provided as well. Drivers must also provide a CPR certificate.
We provide the vehicle and cover all the expenses including insurance, maintenance and gas for business use. Vehicles are late model sedans, minivans and wheelchair accessible vans.
Drivers are based out of the city they live in but do not drive locally. Working hours and where a driver is sent depends on business needs.
Full Time: Drivers work a Monday to Friday schedule and keep the vehicle in their possession for the length of employment. Working days are long, on average 11 hours to a maximum of 14 hours. A typical week is about 50-55 hours to a maximum of 60 hours. This is due to the nature of driving in Ontario, where the weather, traffic, and roads are unpredictable.
There is no exchange of money in the vehicle, drivers cannot accept tips. Drivers also need to ensure they have adequate parking for our vehicle.
We rely on our drivers to be on the road for their working days regardless of weather conditions. Even in snow storms and freezing rain drivers are still on the road. To achieve this, we safety the vehicle twice a year and ensure they have appropriate tires.
